The Right Board For You
Avoid tarnishing your free flow of creativity with preconceived notions of what a Vision Board should be.
If you perceive a Vision Board to be a representation of specific goals, where you are making a commitment to achieve those goals by a specific deadline, you are correct. That is the purpose of many Vision Boards.
Although this may be true, a question to ask yourself: does YOUR board need to be a representation of goals that you must achieve by a firm, set deadline?
For some, the answer is a resounding YES, and you should certainly create goals that inspire you.
Conversely, if goals and deadlines are stressful to you, and your answer is a resounding NO, you should consider another approach to your board.
Do not feel tied to a certain type of Vision Board. Doing so will limit your creativity and essentially negate the effectiveness of your Vision Board.
Above all, remember there are no rules.
YOUR Vision Board supports you,
in a way that is best for you.

The Design Vision Board
The Design Vision Board is a great way to get a visual of how something, such as a living room, for example, could look.
With this approach, pictures of various items, such as furniture, rugs, pictures, etc, depicting the styles you like, are put on the board. You add and replace pictures until you have the look you desire.
Cork Boards/White Boards are awesome for design boarding. The are versatile and make it easy to move things around.
This is a beautiful way to create personal space that allows full expression of you; but perhaps designing and decorating are completely overwhelming for you.
It could be this is where you should go on your journey. After all, challenging yourself to move out of your comfort zone leads to powerful personal growth.
On the flip side, you may not feel ready for that challenge, and that’s totally fine! There are endless ways to approach your board.
The Free Form Vision Board
Here’s how I created my recent Free Form Vision Board:
It started with my name in the center, carefully written on vibrant paper. After that, I wrote ‘woman of courage’, ‘strength’, ‘love’, and ‘beauty’, using the same vibrant paper. I intentionally used these words to frame by border.
Next came self-recognition. I used printouts of my achievements to recognize myself. Notes of congratulations, support and encouragement.
Following my recognition, I randomly selected pictures and quotes that caught my attention.
Without restriction, I entered into a space of free-flowing thoughts and possibilities. Certainly, I had plans and ideas swirling in my head, but in general I selected pictures and quotes that caught my attention. If a thought came to mind and I couldn’t find anything to match, I used a piece of paper to capture the thought, or I wrote it directly on the board.
Once everything was selected and placed, it was time to glue. As I started pasting, I was fascinated by the cohesiveness and direction.
Over the next few months, I will be mindful to visit my board. Appreciating myself, especially the achievements and inner beauty depicted on the board; as well as remembering what matters most, and reconnecting to what I wish to manifest.
On the other hand, I may determine things have changed since the creation of my board.
Living authentically means allowing yourself to follow your path and honoring when it’s time to walk a new one.
If necessary, change your board to follow your direction.
Your Board, Your Choice

The Waking
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
I feel my fate in what I cannot fear.
I learn by going where I have to go.
We think by feeling. What is there to know?
I hear my being dance from ear to ear.
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
Of those so close beside me, which are you?
God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there,
And learn by going where I have to go.
Light takes the Tree; but who can tell us how?
The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair;
I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow.
